Anyway, no more spoilers, only tips if you're quite bored with my progress. Sometimes you just need to hear the same information but in a different light. It isn't my first time playing, so I know a thing or two from experience, but not much more than what you get out of reading the manual.

Most of the wiki is just a reference of the same information as the manual. There's no special game areas to have memorized, monster information is given up in a look command, pretty much the only thing I could get from spoilers is a guide to the exact deity rewards (I did look at that page on the Incursion wiki, but I forget most of it now). Maybe I'll lower it later, if no progress at all is being made. But the higher difficulty is likely to be more entertaining for me. This one is a bit different than what I expect out of roguelikes. For skill in these games, it's important to remember the resources available to a character, and also I need to recognize it when I'm in a really difficult encounter, to use enough of those options to come out on top. This prospect is terrifying, because I'm not very skilled with the game yet, but I want to see how far it goes. Note that I'm going to be playing with options at around the baseline difficulty. I plan to make most stuff a bit redundant, such that any random person can wander in, start reading, and understand the basics of what's going on only by reading through each post in order.
AVERNUM 6 SKILL SYMMETRY MANUAL
There will be many links to Incursion manual stuff, just about all optional, for the people who want to play themselves or who want to laugh at what I'm doing wrong. If you're a DnD veteran, then it should at least look familiar.

This may be a lot of text, you are likely to get information overload, but I guess I'll point out the important stuff.
AVERNUM 6 SKILL SYMMETRY WINDOWS
For convenience, I am playing the windows release, but I've heard that particularly the Linux version is better. There are important differences with d20 stuff, and enough of them that I don't care to elaborate very much.

The manual () will tell you plenty about it without requiring a download, and it's a resource I use even when playing (html is faster loading and navigating than the in-game manual). You know, the game with those ASCII letters that represent things? Like Rogue? It has a lot of features, and an attentive look (being familiar with roguelikes helps) will show you that plenty of loving care was put into crafting it. As some of you may know, Incursion: Halls of the Goblin King () is a roguelike currently still in beta (there was a long hiatus, work was recently resumed for it) with a game engine partly based on the SRD release of Dungeons and Dragons 3.0.
